Liz Curtis

Liz Curtis is a filmmaker, multimedia dance choreographer, educator, and performer based in Long Beach, California. She is currently a faculty member at Chapman University in Orange, CA, and California State University, Long Beach, where she earned her M.F.A. in Dance. Combining her love for dance and cinema, Liz explores the creative possibilities that emerge when these two art forms intersect.

Liz has a diverse background in both the commercial and concert dance worlds, with extensive experience in teaching, performing, and choreographing. She has performed in concert works by renowned choreographers such as Doug Varone, Gerald Casel, Gloria Newman, John Pennington, Susan McLain, Cyrus Parker-Jeannette, and Rebecca Bryant. Her commercial credits span film, television, music videos, international tours, and Las Vegas productions.

Her choreography has been presented on stage, on television, at conferences, and in site-specific works. Her dance films have been screened at film festivals across Europe, Asia, and the U.S., including New York’s 92Y and the upcoming Fall 2024 San Francisco Dance Film Festival.

Additionally, Liz is a BASI-certified Pilates instructor with a Dance Specialization and a graduate of The Sanford Meisner Center’s Professional Acting Certificate Program in North Hollywood.
