Liz Curtis is a filmmaker, choreographer and educator based in Long Beach, California. A dancer by trade, she has had a professional performance career in both commercial and concert dance. She has performed in concert works by renowned choreographers such as Doug Varone, Gerald Casel, Gloria Newman, John Pennington, Susan McLain, Cyrus Parker-Jeannette, and Rebecca Bryant. Her commercial credits span film, television, music videos, international tours, and Las Vegas productions.
Liz holds an MFA in Dance, with a focus on screendance and multimedia performance, and is a graduate of The Sanford Meisner Center. Her dancefilms have been selected for renowned festivals and venues, including the San Francisco Dance Film Festival, ADF’s Movies by Movers, Doc LA, and New York’s 92Y. Liz recently ventured into documentary filmmaking with Being in this Body, a unique hybrid of screendance and documentary. She teaches dance, choreography, and dance film production at Chapman University and California State University, Long Beach.
